Magnetic Floor Sweeper

Safety Product Category

Magnetic Floor sweeper

Magnetic Floor Sweepers can be used to pick up needles, scalpel blades and other sharp or metallic objects during and after surgery.

The reusable Magnetic Retriever is used for the safe retrieval of dropped needles, blades, instruments and other sharps or metallic objects during and after surgery.

  • This product has been specifically designed to retrieve dropped needles, blades and instruments that are frequently too difficult to find and hard to pick up from the operating room floor.
Too often, injuries occur when a lost sharp is discovered inadvertently or during a search.
This simple Magnetic Retriever sweeps the area and magnetically attracts the missing sharp. This can then be removed safely and conveniently for risk free disposal.
The Magnetic Retriever reduces sharps injuries and the costs associated with treatment following a sharps injury.
Our products meet and exceed OSHA, CDC, JCAHO and AORN standards. We suggest that you comply with current OSHA laws pertaining to Sharps Safety in Surgery by using our sharps safety products to avoid being cited for repeated sharps safety violations.

Iontophoretic Drug Delivery

Safety Product Category

Iontophoretic Drug Delivery

Ionotophoresis could be defined as the ability to move medication across the skin by using an electrical charge. Iontophoresis uses low level electrical current to speed up the delivery of the drug ions into the skin and surrounding tissues. This is an alternate method to a typical injection using a needle.

Introducer Needles

Safety Product Category

Introducer Needles

Safety introducer needles are designed to obtain access to the vasculature of the patient without compromising the safety of the clinician. The needle is used during the seldinger or modified seldinger technique for initial access to the vasculature. Following the needle insertion into the patient’s vasculature, a guidewire is inserted through the needle. The needle is removed from off the guidewire. During this process the needle is protected thus preventing a needlestick to the clinician.

Injection Equipment

Safety Product Category

Injection equipment

Injection equipment is used for the injection of intramuscular and subcutaneous medications. Products in this safety area include disposable syringes, needles with needle guards for attachment to syringes, needle guards with sliding sheaths or sleeve, or needle guards with a hinged recap.

Hypodermic Needle-Pro devices are available for most applications that require a needle to administer medications. Hypodermic Needle-Pro devices offer needle-based safety technology that allows clinicians the flexibility of removing a protected needle after drawing up medication into the syringe and performing the injection either with a second needle or through a needleless injection port.

Hypodermic Needle-Pro devices are available in a wide range of sizes from 18g to 27g, and are available individually, or attached to a 3, 5. or 10mL syringe or a 1 mL tuberculin syringe.

SafetyWand™ is the first patented injection device to be fully compliant with OSHA regulations under the federal Needlestick Safety Act while meeting the clinical needs of dentists and physicians.

SafetyWand incorporates safety engineering sharps protection features to aid in the prevention of needlesticks. SafetyWand will be used with Milestone’s CompuDent® computer controlled local anesthetic delivery system and sets a new level for safety engineered products.

SafetyWand provides fully automated true single-handed activation as well as the ability to re-use the device repeatedly during a single patient session, making it highly functional in a wide variety of medical and dental applications.

Inhalation Medication Delivery

Safety Product Category

Inhalation Medication Delivery

An alternative to a syringe injection, inhalation therapies convert drug solutions into a continuous fine aerosol mist, normally 1-5 microns in size which can be inhaled directly into the lungs via a mouthpiece or face mask. In addition, inhalers and other pulmonary drug delivery devices are included in this category of non-needle drug delivery.

Face Shields

Safety Product Category

Face Shields

When there is occupational exposure, OSHA requires that employers shall provide, at no cost to the employee, appropriate personal protective equipment such gloves, gowns, laboratory coats, face shields or masks and eye protection, and mouthpieces, resuscitation bags, pocket masks, or other ventilation devices. Personal protective equipment will be considered “appropriate” only if it does not permit blood or other potentially infectious materials to pass through to or reach the employee’s work clothes, street clothes, undergarments, skin, eyes, mouth, or other mucous membranes under normal conditions of use and for the duration of time which the protective equipment will be used. Face shields provide protection from bloodborne pathogen on the face or from being breathed into the lungs
FACE-IT shields provide OSHA level protection against splash of bodily fluids to the face for the medical, dental and emergency medical healthcare workers. Non-medical shield uses are for non-impact protection such as keeping paint, dust, dirt and oil off your face and eye glasses. FACE-IT has a patented flat viewing area and a comfortable foam barrier which molds to the forehead for extra protection.

The FACE-IT™ Face Shields:

  • Meet OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogen Regulations
  • Provide Flat Viewing Area
  • Minimizes Glare and Distortion
  • Crystal Clear Plastic
  • Anti-Fog Coating
  • Comfortable Foam Headpiece
  • Provides Eye Protection

Electrosurgical Scalpel

Safety Product Category

Electrosurgical Scalpels

An electrosurgical scalpel uses high voltage to slice through muscle and tissue. It cauterizes as it cuts, which reduces bleeding. The electrosurgical scalpel provides effortless and precise cutting by concentrating electrical energy on a very limited region in the patient tissue. The ESU scalpel, however, is not sharp like a regular scalpel and minimizes sharps injuries to clinical staff.

Dissolvable Contaminated Linen Bags

Safety Product Category

Dissolvable Contaminated Linen Bags

When blood contaminated linens need to be laundered – how do you avoid contamination if you have to reach into a bag to remove the linens? There are bags that the contaminated linens can be inserted into that will dissolve during the laundry cycle.

IsoWash Linen Recovery System

The IsoWash Linen Recovery System provides a safe and compliant method to handle linens contaminated with blood, bodily fluids, and other biohazards. Contaminated linens are isolated from human contact by being placed in the IsoWash water-soluble bag. The bag is transparent and marked with a biohazard warning—ensuring staff will handle it accordingly.

The isolated linens are then placed in industrial laundry equipment for recovery. Once the wash cycle begins, the bag dissolves within two minutes, allowing chemicals in the wash to safely clean the contaminated laundry while minimizing human exposure.

Connectors/Adapters

Safety Product Category

Connectors/Adapters

Needle-based systems are often used to transfer medication from syringes, tube sets, repeating syringes, bag ports, and other containers. This creates many opportunities of accidental needlesticks and other occupational exposure to medications. Specialized needle-free connectors can eliminate these potential needlestick injuries.

Baxa has produced quality polypropylene connectors that connect a male luer to syringes, tube sets, repeating syringes, bag ports and other containers.

These connectors can replace cumbersome and potentially dangerous needle-based systems.
